Yet, somehow, it works.
I liked similar films like The Girl Who Leapt Through Time and The Boy and The Beast a bit more overall but it's a worthy addition to the better side of the ever expanding animai canon.
This film came highly recommended by my wife and daughter who are Japanese.

Then it goes beyond that. I have seen so many Anime's because I simply love them, how intense and magical stories can be but this one wow, loved it, me and my partner when watched it first in a friends house, we were like wow.
Nobody could speak or move or it would break the spell; it was like we all needed to be there to decompress together before venturing back out into reality. Beautiful, Emotional and Strong story.

4. I just got it and watched it again this time with the dub and I still feel the same way. The animation is sublime and you really feel like you understand the characters by the end of the movie and are rooting for them the whole way through!
Be warned though, you'll need tissues!
Beautifully animated, imagined, and realised, this is the story of Taki, and Mitsuha.
