Naturally, the nearby diving opportunities are also strong and staff made it easy to arrange dives - even as a solo traveler. We much liked all the activities and the highlight was when we snorkeled with a couple of manta rays.
The lagoon that the beach borders also has a colourful coral reef accessible by snorkelling where, amongst a diverse array of tropical fish, you can spot wild sea turtles regularly! Navette aéroport disponible moyennant des frais supplémentaires. The sea in from the resort was clean and very nice while not exceptional. The Comoros islands experience two seasons that do not differ too much from each other, a warmer and rainier season from November to May and a fresher and drier one from June to October. The Comoros Islands are a unique and unusual travel destination and have a number of quirks that are best approached with a relaxed, adventurous mindset. It was better on the left side where the basic rooms were. All rooms have private terrace and bathroom, are within steps of the beach and restaurant and have direct view on Indian Ocean and coral reef isles. We went during the rainy season, which meant it was quite cloudy, but it only rained a few times. The rooms at Laka are good but very basic, and travellers shouldn't expect amenities such as hot water or air conditioning; however, the rooms do have good mosquito netting, a desk and wall-mounted fan. Transport between islands is notoriously unreliable in Comoros and can be a real headache for travellers. The lack of light pollution also provides for great stargazing at night, and if you're lucky you may be able to spot some bioluminescence in the waters! Food was mainly seafood and nice if not very abundant. I had an amazing snorkeling trip to nearby islets where I spotted a manta ray. But that's not to say that it's for everyone: if you're looking for a high-luxury tropical location then, realistically, you're looking in the wrong country. Hotel Moheli Laka Lodge*** is located in the middle of the National Marine Park in Nioumachoua - Moheli/Comoros: 10 rooms in bungalows, stand-alone villa with two-room apartment and separate suite. There was also a mosquito net but mosquitos were a real problem so I suggest that you bring an electric mosquito repellent with tablets. As a bottom line, the resort had a few shortcomings but considering its location and the difficulty of having basic commodities and services in such a remote area it fully deserves a five-star rating. THANKS.I recently stayed at Laka Lodge for 12 days and can say, without hesitation, that it was one of my favourite travel destinations in recent memory. But that's not to say that it's for everyone: if you're looking for a high-luxury tropical location then, realistically, you're looking in the wrong country. Speaking of local wildlife, the hotel also is visited most days by wild lemurs, which can often be fed by hand! We would highly recommend Laka Lodge for the adventurous travelers looking for a beautiful place off the beaten track.I spent five days in this very unique resort. I find this very cheap. Free internet connection, only for clients, in the restaurant area. In terms of comfort my room had everything I needed. There was also the option to have chicken, beef or vegetarian food if you let them know in advance. Hot water, a fan, filtered potable water and it was cleaned daily except of the day when I forgot to indicate it. Very nice and friendly people and lots of good tasty food, Anne is so fantastic, To go diving is a great pleasure. The balcony was shared with two more rooms and the rooms had almost no noise insulation. Climate. The downsides were mainly that there were a lot of mosquitos and that it was a bit hot in our room during the night (fan only, no AC). Pictures don't do it justice: it's superb.
